The CEO of Recruiting Nevada has enthusiastically given his time, rolodex and attention to building the momentum for the Las Vegas Recruiting Roadshow™ (Wednesday the 27th, register here). We’re really lucky to have him as the local coordinator in Las Vegas.

(February 06, 2008) John Sumser recently asked me to join the speakers at Las Vegas Recruiting Roadshow and I was happy to accept. I am sure it will be fun, and a great opportunity to meet some recruiters face-to-face.
Besides, it fits in nicely with one of the tips I always tell my students: always expand your knowledge and networks well beyond any confined industry ecosystem. Spend too much time within any ecosystem and specialists risk becoming endangered species. Online or off, there is no difference.
This concept is one of the reasons while I place value on creating relationships with public relations practitioners, advertising gurus, communication specialists, etc., I also work build connections and participate outside of my area of focus. I’ve learned quite a bit from recruiters over the last year. (
